A rare and highly evocative Hermès equestrian object, this elegant set comprises a full silver horseshoe accompanied by two matching horseshoe nails, preserved in its original fitted Hermès presentation box. At once sculptural and symbolic, it reflects the maison’s earliest identity in the world of harness-making and the horse — a heritage that continues to define the deepest language of Hermès style.
The interior lid is printed “HERMÈS, 24 Faubg. St. Honoré, Paris,” while the horseshoe itself bears French hallmarks, including a diamond-shaped maker’s mark and a control stamp, confirming its character as a French silver object. In the absence of a fully legible close reading of the assay mark, it is most correct to describe the piece simply and confidently as solid silver.
What gives the set its particular appeal is its purity of theme. The horseshoe is not merely decorative in the Hermès universe; it is inseparable from the house’s equestrian origins and from a culture of craftsmanship, luck, and refined presentation. More than a decorative accessory, this is an object of vertu — discreet, beautifully composed, and deeply resonant for the collector of vintage Hermès pieces.
Rarely encountered in complete form with its original box, it offers a sophisticated expression of Hermès beyond leather: a quietly luxurious tribute to the maison’s founding world, distilled into one of its most enduring symbols.
