Created in collaboration with Dubai’s Perpétuel boutique, this limited edition combines Rémi Maillat’s remarkable sunrise and sunset complication with a desert-inspired colour palette and stainless steel construction. Limited to only 15 examples, it offers a particularly distinctive interpretation of the Anywhere.
The defining feature of the watch is its mechanically calculated display of sunrise, sunset, and the changing duration of daylight for a selected geographical location. Two contrasting peripheral sectors, rendered in pale orange and black, expand and contract as the calendar progresses through the seasons. Their boundaries indicate sunrise and sunset, while a small sun-shaped pointer travels around the 24-hour scale, placing the passage of time within the rhythm of day and night.
The dial gives this Perpétuel edition its unmistakable identity. Eastern Arabic numerals appear on the peripheral time scale and calendar display, complementing the contrasting colours and central hour and minute hands. A subsidiary display at 6 o’clock indicates the date and month, supplying the seasonal information required by the solar mechanism. Despite the complexity beneath the dial, the presentation remains elegant, intuitive, and remarkably restrained.
Housed within the 39 mm stainless steel case is the manually wound calibre C030, a movement comprising 432 components and 55 jewels. Operating at 21,600 vibrations per hour, it combines intricate mechanical calculation with traditional haute horlogerie finishing, including polished bevels, Geneva stripes, and perlage. At approximately 9.5 mm thick, the watch retains refined proportions that belie its technical sophistication.
