A highly unusual Universal Genève Unisonic retailed by Cartier, reference 852100, featuring a silvered Cartier-signed dial, date display, and gold-plated stainless steel case. A refined and uncommon mid-century dress watch offered watch only.
A highly attractive and uncommon Universal Genève Unisonic reference 852100, distinguished by its rare Cartier retail signature and elegant gold-plated stainless steel construction. Combining the clean, modernist character of late-1960s watch design with the added desirability of a double-signed dial, this is a watch that will appeal strongly to collectors seeking unusual retailer-signed pieces with understated sophistication.
The defining feature of the watch is its beautifully restrained silvered dial, signed Cartier beneath the Universal Genève signature and complemented by applied baton hour markers, a date aperture at 3 o’clock, and a clean, balanced layout. Watches retailed by Cartier occupy a special place in vintage collecting, and examples such as this add a meaningful layer of rarity and historical interest beyond the standard production model.
Housed in a 34 mm gold-plated stainless steel case, this Unisonic offers an especially wearable vintage proportion and an elegant everyday presence. Powered by a quartz movement and fitted with a plated unsigned buckle, the watch captures a distinctive chapter of Universal Genève production while preserving the quiet refinement expected from a Cartier-retail-signed watch. Offered watch only, without box or papers, this is a particularly appealing choice for collectors of retailer-signed vintage watches and uncommon Universal Genève references.
