An exceptionally rare and highly collectible Rolex Cosmograph Daytona reference 6262 in stainless steel, distinguished by its coveted Paul Newman dial. Produced only for a brief transitional period around 1970–1971, the reference 6262 occupies a special place in Daytona history, bridging the earliest manual-wind references and the later generations that would follow. Among vintage Rolex collectors, it is widely regarded as one of the rarest and most desirable Paul Newman Daytona references.

The defining feature of the watch is its unmistakable Paul Newman “exotic” dial, with contrasting light sub-dials, Art Deco-style numerals, distinctive square markers within the registers, and the curved red Daytona signature above 6 o’clock. This dial gives the watch a far more graphic and expressive personality than a standard Daytona, creating the bold visual identity that has made these references so admired across generations of collectors. The fixed steel tachymeter bezel and classic pump chronograph pushers further preserve the pure, balanced character of the early Daytona.
